Sara Driver (Viola) has been performing professionally on the violin and viola for over 34 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in violin performance from UMKC conservatory of Music and a master’s degree in violin performance from University of Maine. Sara then went on to do doctoral work in viola performance at the University of Texas-Austin. Her teachers include: Tiberius Klausner, Anatole Wieck, Roger Myers, Ellen Rose and Daniel Kobialka. She has performed in the masterclasses of: Kato Havas, Mark Peskanov, Donald Mcinnes, Heidi Castleman, and Pinchas Zuckerman. She is a member of the Austin Opera Orchestra, and former principal violist of Corpus Christi Symphony. She plays regularly with the Austin Symphony and other groups around the Austin and Central Texas region. She has performed as well with the :San Antonio Symphony, Victoria Symphony, Waco Symphony, Mid-Texas Symphony, Brazos Valley Symphony, Strawberry Creek Music Festival in Malibu, California, as well as the Victoria Bach Festival. She was a founding member of the Vega Piano Quintet, as well as the Budjanova Ensemble. She has taught in the UT Strings Project, served on the faculty of the Armstrong Community Music School, as well as taught at the University of Maine and University of Texas-Austin.
