Mikaila Seo, Texas Strings Camp Youth Program Director, is an avid teacher and performer in the Austin area. She owns her own private teaching studio, Seo String Studio, and enjoys teaching students of all ages. Mikaila is also on faculty at Southwestern University, where she teaches applied violin and viola. While pursing her Master of Music degree in Chicago, IL, Mikaila was very fortunate to perform chamber music with talented musicians such as Roger Chase, Stefan Hersh and Julian Hersh. Her performances have been broadcasted on WFMT, Chicago’s classical music radio station. Mikaila has performed in many festivals around the United States and Canada such as: Heifetz International Music Institute, Killington Music Festival, Round Top Festival Institute, Mendocino Music Festival, Orford Arts Center, and the Lake George Music Festival.
Currently in Austin, in addition to teaching her private studio and her students at Southwestern University, she is on faculty and works as the Office Manager at the University of Texas at Austin String Project. Mikaila also teaches at Austin Chamber Music Center, and the University of Texas at Austin Longhorn Music Camp. Past teaching engagements include the Austin Soundwaves Program, Songbird Rising String Camp, and the Round Rock Symphony ASPIRE program.
