Dr. Amy Harris maintains an elite private violin studio in the Austin area working with students age 3 and up. Dr. Harris started her collegiate studies with a Bachelor of Music Performance from the University of Northern Colorado. After earning her Master of Music in Violin Performance from the College-Conservatory at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Harris was conferred her Doctor of Violin Performance at the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin, Butler School of Music.
Never one to wait for opportunity, her awards include the Angie Southard Convocation Award (2000), the CCM Chamber Music Award (2003), and the Best Instrumental Performance at the Sydney M. Wright Competition (2009). Dr. Harris believes in the power of coming together as musicians and subsequently has attended music festivals such as National Repertory Orchestra, Round Top, the Henry Mancini Institute, and the Brevard Music Festival.
Dr. Harris maintains membership with the Suzuki Institute of the Americas, Texas Private School Music Educators Association, Pi Kappa Lambda honorary music fraternity, and the Delta Omicron music fraternity.
